Giants vacuums may be able to remove carbon dioxide from
the air, according to a Columbia University physicist.
Vacuums placed around the world could turn back the clock,
leaving a pure atmosphere to rival the pre-Industrial Age,
said physicist Klaus Lackner.
Lackner's prototype vacuum is about the size of a phone booth.
It would capture 10 pounds of carbon dioxide per day, though
28 billion tons are produced worldwide eac year.
It's estimated you'd have to cover an area the size of Arizona
with his vacuums to get the job done at a cost of about $5.6
trillion.
