Government Task Force Predicts Terror Attack on Major U.S. City

Things are getting freaky. Within hours after I
posted my 31 predictions for 2009, which included the prediction
of a possible terrorist attack on either New York or Los Angeles
(http://www.naturalnews.com/024976.html),
the federal government's own task force issued a prediction that
eerily mirrors the one I just published.
The panel, called the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons
of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism (CPWMDPT, and
that's a mouthful), predicted that the threat of a terrorist attack
on a major U.S. city is growing, not shrinking. It also thought
that such an attack would involve the use of advanced biological
weapons.
Gee, I bet the U.S. government spent $20 million and six months
coming up with that report.
I wrote mine in three hours for free.
(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)

Then again, getting anything done by committee is always a maddening
exercise, and any government task force is really just a committee
with a fancy name.
These committees could use some creative help. In fact, if some
government panel wanted to offer me a job helping them predict
likely terror attack strategies, I'd probably be willing to help
out from the point of view of just being a caring U.S. citizen.
I don't want my fellow Americans to be harmed by terrorism, even
if I do disagree with the Bush Administration's war mongering
tactics. And one thing I'm good at is putting together the pieces
of a big picture puzzle (although I'm not so good at keeping track
of all the tiny details).
I suppose I should also tell you that I deleted all sorts of
details from my terrorism prediction story posted yesterday because
I thought they might actually be TOO detailed for comfort, and
I didn't want to give anybody some ideas they hadn't already thought
of. For example, there are ways to sneak dirty bombs into ports
that can avoid radiation sensors. There are also social engineering
tactics that could be used to multiply the fatalities in a subway
chemical attack. But like I said, I'm not going to be publicizing
those kinds of details, because they might not be obvious to everybody
else, and I have no desire to aid the effectiveness of terrorist
attacks.
I complain about the U.S. government all the time, but the fact
remains that America is my home country. I don't want to see its
people harmed, nor its cities attacked by anyone. I'm a peace
hippy, remember? I wish all the armed people in the world would
just lay down their firearms, go home to their families and sing
songs around the campfire while chugging superfood smoothies.
(Imagine THAT for a moment...)
But since that's not likely to happen any time soon, we probably
need to be thinking about how to both anticipate likely terrorist
attacks and, just as importantly, stop making new enemies around
the world by being such a bully nation.
