'Prophet': Obama won't make it to the White House

Disaster will prevent President-elect Obama from taking his seat
in the Oval Office, says a self-proclaimed prophet out of Utah.
Leland Freeborn, known as the "Parowan Prophet," recently
gained attention in a December 8 letter published in the St. George
Spectrum. "I said on my home page in August that if he lost,
to expect to see the 'Riots' that 2 Peter 2:13 tells us about,"
he wrote. "He didn't lose. But the story is not finished
yet. I still think they may begin the riots before Christmas 2008
as I said.
"Some of the news media will say that riots are justified.
Now you know how much God is offended and just plain fed-up with
our stupid excuses for not keeping all of his commandments in
your Bible. Many readers will remember the many letters form me
warning people."

Freeborn is a survivalist and international talk radio guest
whose previous predictions include Al Gore's winning the popular
vote in 2000 and OJ Simpson's acquittal. A former Mormon, father
of 12, and taker of "plural wife," he began his life
as a prophet following a visit to the "other side" during
his three-week coma after being in a plane crash in 1975. He told
the Los Angeles Times of a recurring dream in which he sees nuclear
flashes to the west. "Prepare now," he added in his
letter. "We are downwind from Las Vegas. I hope you can survive."
The Times' Peter King sat in on a meeting with Freeborn in which
he reiterated his prediction of a nuclear end, kicked off with
"riots," with the support of biblical passages. "How
terrible it must be to believe what this man truly appears to
believe, and yet have so few willing to listen," King said.
He was given an allocation of iodide crystals to counter the effects
of radiation and urged to reconsider his trip to Obama's inauguration.
"I don't think you are going to finish your trip back East,"
Freeborn predicted.
"Nonetheless, with our little brown bottles of iodide, we
will press on," King wrote. "The rest of you are warned."
